Apple Sauce

A field trip to a apple orchard, got me thinking..

My apple picker

What if I brought home say 25 pounds of apples..

Since last week I may have been inspired by my $14 thrift store find.

It is almost Crocktober....so some apples a little brown sugar and some cinnamon, 6 hours on high in the crock pot, a  potato masher and thats it.

I could have this . Apple Sauce.

Crocktober

I know this is a craft blog, but Crocktober is about to start at my house. My daughter started this since it was October last year and I only used my crock pot for a week or so. I love my crock pot and there are so many recipes online now and Pinterest for some great stuff. Here is a new fave. The picture isn't mine and I didn't follow her recipe, but used it for my own inspiration.  Sometime I just don't have everything for the recipe so I have to make something else work for me.

So here is my recipe:
Frozen chicken tenders, 10-15 pieces (they can be kinda small)
1 or 2 cans of Enchilada sauce  (I like to cover the meat but not make soup)
3 TBS. of Taco seasoning  (I get mine at Costco in the jar) a package should do it
1 tsp Cumin
diced onions (half an onion)
Cheese when you're about  ready to serve and green onions
Cook on low for 6-8 or High for a few hours then turn down to low. Shred the meat after about 4 hours
Serve with warm flour tortillas

Valentine Dessert table

We had a Relief Society meeting last night . My board and I make all kinds of sweets, it was so much fun. So many of the ideas came from Pinterest, which I do love. It sure does help me when planning and decorating for a activity , or party. If nothing else it makes you start to think about things you could do .
 Felt toperies
Fruit in waffle cones with dip (cream cheese and marshmello cream) Dipped rice crispies, M&M blondies
Pretzel with chocolate dots and M&M
Love the napkins in the mailbox
All the yummy treats the board make, red velvet heart cookies, dipped fortune cookies. Peanut butter with chocolate hearts. Strawberry shortbread dipped in chocolate with sprinkles. Cake pops
 Setting up
Some of my creations , ideas from Pinterest
 Milano cookies, and Pirouette cookies
My first attempt at making cake pops. I would have liked them to be a  little rounder and more consistant in size .
table and chairs ,little different that the usual.

Peaches

I made some wonderful peach jam . The recipe had crushed pineapple in it . It is so good , but it didnt set up as well as I had hoped .I have only made jam one other time by myself
(without a pro like grandma or mom) . I hope to do better next time.
