Cake stands and Relief Society Party

 Her are the finished cake stands. I started out with plywood tops and planned on adding trim , well that turned out to be a bigger project that I had planned . We ended up going with MDF and using the router on the edges , the large is 10inch and the small is 8 inch . 6x6 routed base came from a piece of pine.The table legs are from Home Depot  but I think Lowes also has them.Painted everything white. I love how they turned out.  Relief Society Party

 My friend made the sugar scrub. Used baby food jars and spray painted the lids.

 Potato bar

 I used scrap paper on the cake stands to mach our colors for the night. Looking at the pictures I wish I had put the blue ribbon strip on top of the yellow fabric napkin.

Before and After

 When we firs moved into the house we had vertical blinds every where. Slowly they have made there way out , just two left. I love the front window but it gets very bright during the day, no direct sun but a ton of light . The curtains are perfect , a woven fabric from IKEA. It still lets a little light in but add privacy for the evenings .

 We bought two wooden dowels the unfinished brackets and some finials , I sprayed everything black.

Thanks to my helper , he gets the credit for the hanging , I handed him the tools and screws. Now I need to fill the old holes in the wall and paint ....that's another day.

Weekend projects

 My $35 yard sale find. Cant wait to get this done and filled up.

 cake stands I started , Iam going to do a bigger base and router the top edge ,which means I need more wood .I used a thin plywood and started putting trim around it but , we aren't good at the mitered corners and it was just not going well. I am making 10 for a Relief Society dinner . If I was just making 2 the trim would have been fine . Just something that I need to get better at .

This is the hardware for my new front window curtains, can wait to get this up . I have so many project going right now I cant get anything done . Relief Society is next week and I have so much to get ready.

Closet make over

 The front closet has been a problem for a while now.We didn't need for coats since we have plenty of room in the bedroom so it has never been for hanging things. Mostly some seasonal entry way decorations. I had a small book shelf in there to help out but  Its amazing how some new shelves take care of the problem. Nice to know we have 4 sets of UNO cards and 3 sets of Phase 10 . Love how nice it looks . Carsyn has been playing games all day . She loves it when it is nice and clean , that even happens when we get her room all clean she loves to play in it . Why can she keep it that way?

 Love this shoe rack , have been seeing this all over Pinterest. Couldn't wait to put it to use.I had to hang it a little lower ( love command hooks) so Carsyn could get stuff and the door didn't shut nice with the hooks at the top any way

Valentines for the Teachers

My friend and I made these fortune cookies , she burnt her fingers folding cookies while I did the dipping in the chocolate . So cute I just love them . Thanks Meagan it was a good purchase.

We had a Relief Society meeting last night . My board and I make all kinds of sweets, it was so much fun. So many of the ideas came from Pinterest, which I do love. It sure does help me when planning and decorating for a activity , or party. If nothing else it makes you start to think about things you could do .
